IIRC, the earlier versions at least used a custom fabbed IC that Curt Vendel designed from the VHDL files available for the original chipset.  I'd be interested in a sound comparison between the original TIA and this.  Anyone have more info?

For what it's worth, I happened to notice they're advertising Atari Flashback 4s for sale in a Bed Bath and Beyond mailer I received this weekend. They have them for $49, so I guess if you use one of their signature "20% off" coupons, you could get it for $40, which doesn't seem bad.

Hi
I think you need a Flashback 2 system, and it must be an original, there are bad copies of flashback.
The Flashback 2 it is the close to the real deal, and I have read the flashback 3-4 is not as good emulated,
when I examine it, no one had modified flashback 3-4 eg. NO cartridges port
