So I've seen this gbc mod about making the gbc louder and I got intrested in the idea of adding a capacitor to the 5V rail so it won't produce as much noise.

So here are my results:

I've added a 470uF electrolytic capacitor between these two points. The second point is the lead on the back of the big capacitor. Remember to check the polarity wink

But how does it sound?

Here is a mp3 file. The first three notes are with the capacitor and the second thre are without.

How the noise reduction looks like

btw I also made the "gbc bass mod" and its super cool wink

The difference is clearly noticeable! Congratulations!
Is the capacitor a polarized one?
And the point indicated with an arrow refers to the big capactor lead on the other side? : S

Yes, a electrolytic one
And yes, the lead on the other side.

So fucking cool!

Do you know if this noise reduction capacitor works without your "bass mod"? Seems like it would work with a standard pro-sound mod but I figured I would ask.

It works on every gbc. I only mentioned my previous mod if anyone missed it wink

Right on. Any idea on what voltage that cap needs to be? I really want to try this out.

more than 5v

That's what I figured. Thanks!
