I remember waiting desperately with some of the other guys from treble death for that post to move from "coming soon" to an actual guide.

Which reminds me, does anyone know what happened to Digital Sound Chips? I've been looking for contact info for the better part of two years and they seem to have fallen off the face of the earth. It certainly adds to the mystique, but it 's a little hard to purchase another one.
They are still around. Working on new stuff.
From what I've heard only 20 units of bluebox were made, so it's indeed quite rare.
Of course. We even released our 'best of mod.*' collection a few months back.
C64 Emulation, and also some Goattracker stuff.
Here's a reason why I'm not here.
The keypad thing is a Blue Box synth.
I was hoping it had blue box tones...

Translation: C64 and Amiga are two different things.
yeah that c64 emu comment really made me scratch my head
Are there any benefits in using an Amiga 1200 over the Amiga 600 when utilizing programs like protracker?
Both have 4 x 8-bit pcm channels with a sampling rate ranging from 28~56Hz.
The 600 came with 1mb ram while the 1200 came with 2mb ram standard and the AGA chipset on the 1200 just improves the graphics... to my understanding.
It doesn't seem like much has changed in terms of the "sound" capabilities and wanted to know if one was "better" to use over the other for use with music tracking programs.

I think there are some differences in the post-chip audio circuit between the 600 and 1200, but TSC or Akira might be more qualified to speak here.
TSC's pimped ride makes me want to buy an Amiga again...

The 600 has a built-in audio filter similar to the a500, along with the LED filter. This more or less makes everything sound like complete garbage in the high end. The 1200 sounds nice and crisp out of the box.
There are ways to modify/bypass this circuit (maybe I'll post these directions one day?) but you run a serious risk of damaging an already ridiculously overpriced machine.
My advice? Emulate. It's 100% exact, unless of course you're doing stupid shit like I am.

Amiga.
Approximate relevant answer to thread question.
I have no idea what you are even talking about anymore.
