Laser Rifles and Zombie Sharks would be amazing.
Wooden buttons and cart cases would be amazing.
+1
I made a few sets of wooden buttons once.
It was a lot of work.
i remember seeing a picture on facebook once of a wooden dmg (case, buttons, etc) but i can't find it now
edit: found it on reddit here
edit round 2: it's not real

whoops, my bad
what exactly is in it? there sure as hell isn't a real dmg in there.
i would guess some kind of arcade button system or similar behind the pads. idk about the screen though, thats pretty large
If one were to attempt to make a wooden DMG case, one would hope that one has enough experience in woodworking to know.
This should seem obvious.
I used to work in a custom cabinet shop, with the right tools it wouldn't be that hard, maybe time consuming if you wanted to do a good job, but thats what it takes to make good wood crafts.
Sharp tools and patience.
Type of wood wouldn't make a difference, just depends what you want.
Some woods are harder than others and therefore harder to work requiring more precision, patience, and SHARP tools.
Some woods are prettier than others so that's just preference.
Poplar, cherry, & pine are soft so easy to work, but also easily dentable.
Maple, ash, ebony, walnut, oak are harder woods= harder to work but more durable, also much prettier.
Balsa wood?
Maybe you could put some wings on it and throw it out of a window :-)

If someone has a busted set of DMG internals for me to experiment with, I could try to make something on my laser cutter...
