What if you don't use a DMG, though? Would something like this be suitable for someone who makes 16-bit chiptunes?

Drummers dress to be able to flail sticks and have a snare drum between their legs. Jackets get in the way, skirts/kilts are right out. Guitarists generally can't wear gloves that cover parts of the hands that will touch the strings. Pushing play on a computer has no such restrictions, so anything that gets attention will do, like a maid's dress.

Oh, wait, that said "listen." Just meet the dress code of the venue.

Can't say that I read the other responses (too busy viewing the hilarious photos.)
In any case, those who listen to chiptunes are more often than not, adults re-stimulating the senses of past enjoyment. Nostalgia has the attire of a grown person. I wear dress pants and a polo every day; if it were not for work, I would wear a full suit daily. These things make me feel good too.

The other spectrum of the chiptune party is adolescents. Children wear underoos if memory serves.
