there are japan-only clear GBCs, they aren't super hard to find. (ebay has quite a few)
and then the atomic (clear) purple ones, and those are everywhere.

IIRC none of Nintendo's handhelds were reigon-locked until the DSi/3DS, so playing US games on a JP CGB shouldn't be a problem.

This is correct. I have only played Japanese original game boy games on a game boy color, but i frequently read that all of the game boy line is region-free. The original game boy advance is a good match for that case. If you decide you don't want it i can trade something for it. I have a few games i am not likely to ever play. If you are going to import, might as well go for this (but if it were me I would never unbox it, so just send me the case

Yes I would absolutly love to have one of those. I would make a little shrine for it.
Thats good to know that they arent region locked tough. I recall getting some import games before and they wouldnt work. Might have been a fluke.
