im in need of a new mp3 player or something that can play mp3 songs.
my 32gb micro sd of my phone is ultimately full and i still have to sacrifice loads of songs that are left on my hard drive.
my requirements are:
-big memory. id like 64gb at least (can also be via external storage, im not afraid to tinker with the device either)
-good sound. no shit.
-low price. im not a man of many moneys, and i often actually prefer price over quality, looks or ease of use.

i dont like the ipod classic too much, so id really like to get around it. my current plan is using my psp phat with 64gb (duo micro sd adapter + 2x 32gb micro sd). the sound is good, so is the player (well its good enough). but as you may know the old psp is pretty bulky and heavy. when i use it as mp3 player i always have to carry it in my kamikaze belt bag and look like a gunman.
i already have the psp, the adapter and one 32gb card, so id only need to pay one more card to have this setup. but its not really the setup id like to use.
do you guys know of any alternatives? i was thinking that there may be old PDAs with two sd slots or something, but i didnt find any yet.

i like the sansa clip+ stuff

- it can play flacs and oggs as well as mp3s
- you dont need itunes to put songs on its just a usb drive
- its got an sd card
- the menu system is easy to use
- its cheap

Sansa Clip Zip is really good. Inexpensive for the lower capacity ones, with an SD card slot (as stated by sandneil). In addition, they are compatible with an alternative firmware made for many different music players called "Rockbox". The UI is hell at first, but its quite versatile after you're used to it.

hum, the sansa ones do look nice... but it seems they have problems with 64gb cards /:
good thing though my phone seems to accept 64gb cards, so i will probably use that. if not, im off again to seeking an mp3 player which accepts 64gb cards tongue

If you like psp then a pspgo might be a good choice. All the same good points you listed plus more portable and with an addtional 16GB internal and Bluetooth.

Edit: also piggy

Dingoo a320 + opendingux
Should support 64GB micro sdhc.
A linux player with a gui with mp3, ogg, flac should exist.

I've not tested but it might took less space than a psp and has a better battery.
But i repeat i have not tested this combo.

Hey what don't you like about the Ipod Classic? If it is a software problem you can replace the entire operating system. There's many to choose from. And it runs Linux and NES roms, and you can DIY a NES controller for it.

Right, totally forgot about that. Excuse me, I need to go waste 30 mins on an FPS on a 64x64 screen...
