Hey I just got an NES I bought off e-bay, and I noticed that there are vertical lines on either side of the screen no matter what game I put in. The lines are the color of the background in the game. If the background is blue there are blue lines, if it's white there are white lines etc. The seller claims the system has had a new 72 pin connector installed.

Anyone know what the problem/solution is?

Thanks!

Maybe this is a stupid question, but what is the aspect ratio of your TV?

lol no i'm not talking about the big black bars on the side, but yes it is a widescreen. The colored bars are within the 4:3 box.

are they thin lines?

because it might just be your wide screen. lines like that would probably be unnoticable on a regular 4:3 tv.

ahhh maybe you're right. maybe they normally would extend off the borders of a 4:3 so you wouldn't see them. I bet you're right.

haha, if you look from the side, on a 4:3 tv, you can see the lines. i just tried it.
