Hello! I stumbled upon this place a while back when I was just getting into chiptunes. I love'm! I can't really pin down which artists I like the most but I do have songs I love quite a lot. I'd really like to find more songs like the ones I like and maybe some direction to help make chiptunes like the artists/songs I like? I'd most appreciate it! I've been playing guitar for 8 years and am somewhat familiar with music composition.

Songs I like:
Funky Fish and Cerror - Garbage on TiTAN
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vVMdRsRyRo0

Rez - Unreeeal Superhero 2
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8j1iPTd8IOA

Malmen and Xyce - Papillons
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EsAEiCCVOmc

Rymdlego - Yuki Satellites
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=45Fl0FyNR_4

Thanks guys!!

If you know guitar, you might enjoy artists like Norrin Radd or Heosphoros. Both make metal-inspired NES music. Very different from what you linked, but hey, you might enjoy it. Also if you like demoscene-styled stuff check out zabutom, coda, and joule. Another worthy mention would be Maxo whose music is very good and very unique in my opinion.

The great thing about chip stuff is that is varies between many genres and (at least with modules) you can open them up in a tracker and meticulously pick them apart and see how your favorite artists write their stuff.

Also don't feel the need to get familiar with LSDJ, Famitracker, or Deflemask. If you want to write stuff like malmen or cerror check out OpenMPT or Milkytracker. Don't be afraid to try new things or experiment with music.

Well we (cerror and I) are heavily inspired by oldschool-ish (demoscene) like chiptunes. I can recommend you check out the modland FTP (ftp://ftp.modland.com/pub/modules/) and then especially the Protracker and Fasttracker sections, loads of modules to be found there. Few artists you should definitely check out: loonie, radix, ghidorah, ctrix, arachno, jeroen tel, malmen, joule, 4-mat, mano, xerxes, zalza, moh, maktone and archon.

I highly recommend golgi apparatus. His music is cool and melodic, sometimes silly, but always fun and heavilly influenced by the types of artists you listed.

You can also check out Kubbi's work, you may like it.

If you are into melodic chiptunes you should listen to DRAX (Thomas Mogensen) sometime. Some of my favorites are Pubhorny, Clarencio, Sinful, Depressed, Swamp Poo, and KickAssembler Easteregg remix.
