Hellooooooo,

Someone gave me a bleepbloop cart a while ago, I have been using it but I would like to back up the cart.

I understand that this program "MProg3.5" can read the FTDI, but I want to backup the image on the cart.

gameboydev.org does not seem to exist anymore so I just need someone to point me in the right direction.

Is there some software used in conjunction with "MProg" to backup and write to the cart?

You can use GB Cart Flasher or a similar program based on it for the smartboy cartridges.

Sweeeeeeden

MProg is needed if the FTDI chip has somehow lost its configuration. If the FTDI chip doesn't have it's configuration, you can't use the GB Cart Flasher software. Just clarifying this, it's not likely you have this problem. Use the links in katsumbhong's post.

ok this is what i thought, there was something else for the flashing

so the FTDI is just for USB<->SERIAL interface,
and the cart flasher is to read and write to the EEPROM on the cart
Does that sound right?

Mostly, yes
