I'm with this guy. Yeah, it can be 'JIF' as soon was we pronounce 'Graphics' as 'Jraphics'. We don't, and we won't.
It's 'Gif'. Steve Wilhite doesn't decide how the English language works.. Not to mention, all patents related to the compression process have since expired, a battle over which resulted in the creation of the PNG standard. He doesn't even own any rights anymore.
