i don't own gameboy camera, but it looks like 1-bit resolution, only black and white, no grayscale levels. in polygraphy we use mostly CMYK (Cyan/Magenta/Yellow/blacK) mode which is subtractive and uses percentages instead of 8-bit values per channel (RGB is additive), on litographies is every plate created from halftone screen dots with different angles. this gameboy video looks exactly like lito but with very small DPI value.

count with me, ordinary 24-bit RGB JPG picture (8 bits a.k.a. 256 levels per channel) contain 16,777,216 colors (btw i remember this number since AGA hires mode on Amiga 1200 in the year 1993). i searched some gameboy camera pics on google, it certainly contains black, two shades of gray and white.  i don't count white color as another color, because it has 0 % raster, but maybe can be altered to other, i don't know. so basically it is NOT 8-bit camera.

the gameboy had a 2-bit colour palette

2 bit is correct! though 8bitDaily sounded alot better then 2bitDaily. See what I mean at 8bitDaily.tk
