Recently it was discovered that the 3ds' browser could be exploited for various things. One of those things was custom rom 'injection' into the virtual console Gameboy Color emulator. A video with instructions:

I decided to try out LSDJ using this exploit. It was successful, but the emulator did not pass LSDJ's sav ram check. Video:

Instructions:

Download code.bin and place it on the root of the 3ds' SD card: http://goo.gl/vDaKxP

Get your LSDJ rom, and rename it rom.gbc, also place it on the SD card root.

Load your virtual console game, and go to the virtual console menu (press on the touch screen)

From the VC menu, press home.

Load your web browser and point it to loadcode.projectpokemon.org

It will load for a minute, and then the bottom screen will turn one of three colors:
Green - You're good to go!
Yellow - Rom issue
Red - Failed

Assuming you have green, press home again and go back into your VC game.

Press reset.

If everything worked, your custom rom should now load!

If anyone has ideas on how to get LSDJ to load, that would be awesome!

The folks who designed the mod knew little to nothing of how MBC and RAM size affected compatibility. iirc Shantae seems to be a good host as well. Give it a shot? Seems to be suitable to work with Pokemon Crystal.

The host game would need at least 32 kiB of SRAM, and that still only gets you one song. The following games might work better: Harvest Moon 2 or 3. Wario Land 3. Pokemon Puzzle Challenge. Pokemon Trading Card Game. There may be a load of others, but Shantae in particular has access to only 8 kiB of RAM. (At least, this is my theory of why it doesn't work.)
Even so, it would be pretty pointless as the SRAM would probably just be erased the next time the game is started, as the game just thinks the LSDj save data is corrupted memory.

Also, if anyone with an exploitable 3DS feels like it, I would like to see the following ROMs executed on Nintendo's emulator to see how accurate it is.

I'll work on this for you. Just video?

Video is fine, as long as the numbers printed on the screen are legible.

Here is an imgur album of all the tests' output: http://imgur.com/a/fj9e6

Is the loading supposed take a really long time? I tried to follow the steps, but all I get is a black loading screen in browser for a minutes on end.

Ok. At least I'm not the only one.
