I'm looking to make a Horn/Trumpet sound in LSDJ for a cover I'm wanting to do.

Has anyone made a patch like this and would be willing to share it? Or at least an idea with what to start with when making an instrument in pulse/wav channels?

many thanks heart

Yo.

Pulse channel.

W commands
W50%
W25%
W-whatever narrow is

H command to hold on narrow pulse.

In Transpose column
1st step = FE
2nd step = FF

H command to hold on 3 step, no transpose.

That's my go-to trumpet-y patch.

Something I did with VRC6 in Famitracker. Similar to Roboctopus' trumpet, except do it in the Wav channel and manually edit the steps of the wavetable so the pwm holds on a 6.25% pulse wave. Gives you a thinner muted trumpet sound.

You can experiment with different widths and shapes from there to tweak it how you like.

set vibrato type to high frequency, put a VFx on first frame of the table, switch to V0x/1x a frame or two down to get a bit of that "pbbbft" trumpet attack sound

I have a wonderful trap brass kit in the works. You only ever need 2 notes for brass in trap anyway.
