Hello, sorry for the new topic it won't let me bump older ones. Anyway I just finished putting a backlight in my pocket and every time I press start to play a loop in LSDJ the backlight just shuts off. I've read that it could be the cart but I'm not sure, is a 64m smartcard 1212 compatible with the pocket? Any advice would be great. Thank you.

Sounds like improper solder points. Check to make sure they are properly soldered, there is no bridging and that all the wires are properly attachded to the backlight.
Also try new batteries.
High quality reachargeables work the best, such as "Eneloop" or "EBL".

Okay I changed the solder points and replaced the batteries the backlight stays on now it just changes contrast is that fixable?

Sounds like the batteries or the contrast dial needs to be cleaned. It can be cleaned with a toothbrush, rubbing alcohol and some compressed air or quick, focused mouth blowing.
