I was wondering what you guys thought of the Arduboy ?

Apparently,  there is already some sort of simple 8 bit synth program for it.  I imagine it's not that complex since it just has a piezo speaker and 2 channels(?),  but we all know how fun limitations are smile

Down the road I'd like to learn Arduino and perhaps make my own little synth program for it.

Any Arduino users out there who might shed a little light on the subject?

The Arduino is capable of way more than just beeping; if you're into atmel synth programming, check out Mozzi.

I got one and I even made some chiptune on it
So if you have questions, go ahead.

I asked the creator of the Arduboy about the synth program and he had this to say:

"Well right now it's SUPER basic, we just have basic tone generation. We are working on the ability to input MIDI files. The hardware only directly supports 2 channel but with some creative software programming you might be able to get more than 1 channel on a pin. We really need someone in the community to help out with this by doing PCM tones and things like that, we are going to probably offer a reward or contest for someone who develops the best synth!"

If anyone could help out,  please do!

Cheaper than buying a new 64M flash cart! I'm not really one for kickstarter, but I really wanna get one.

It seems considerably less powerful than one, soundwise at least.

Just ordered a Gamebuino too... On backorder...  I wonder when it will ship?

I looked and couldn't find a substantial Gamebuino thread. :/

I'm glad I got people interested in the gamebuino....
It has great potential

Som people added bluetooth support, you can stream samples from the sd card...

Maybe we could continue in another thread...
About tracking, there is no easy way yet.
see here for the demo song we've made: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=743uCDRQcWY... not that great but it was our first try
we made it with a tool that is unreleased yet, and it is rather a converter than a tracker...
The sources of this 'demo' are available in the github repo
