Looking for some inspiration to add a chip "guitar" solo to this track.

Share your your favorite solos below.

Mine is from Silver Surfer (solo starts at about 1:00):

Two Tim Follin tracks already.

The whole Thunder Force IV soundtrack is great for heavier guitar sounds, here's one of the standout tracks:

Speaking as a guitar player... A disproportionately large number of guitar solos are based around the blues scale, so start from that. Also keep in mind the open strings, EADGBE. Many guitarists will use them to insert a few quick notes or octave jumps in the middle of a solo. Watch a few "basic guitar solo" tutorials on the tubes of you and you'll get a sense of what kind of intervals feel "natural" on the guitar and give a melody a distinct "guitar solo" feel.

A lot of Martin Galway's stuff has solos (TImes of Lore even has 3 randolmly chosen ones)  eg: Terra Cresta from about 2 minutes:

Whoa, that Galway track is amazing! The filter work and the echo together sound great.

And the inclusion of the Plok solo brings the Tim Follin total to three. You want prog rock chiptune? Tim Follin's your man.

Sounds good dude! I've been known to throw in some chip guitar into my stuff as well. Maybe this will help? https://soundcloud.com/jredd/hyper-boss … -166933007 Keep going with it, I think chip music always sounds cool with a bit of shredding in it big_smile.
