I'm popping in to mention that I did propose a name change on this thread already on page one. I asked Peter to handle it not realizing at the time that he didn't have the authority to do so. I'm going to propose again that name change take place. If desired a new thread can be made to list vendors if one is desired here on cm.o.

Apeshit - I have little interest in "attacking" other store vendors and I don't regard this thread as such. I do maintain a list of other vendors on my website @ http://nonelectronics.com/vendors but don't have any desire for it to be considered a de-facto resource. This list is also linked to on the footer of my index page. You and Kitsch are both on it.

I am not here to control the flow of information. That's kind of why this thread was started in the first place; someone was (and still is) attempting to control the flow of information in an underhanded manner and we want it to stop.

Anthony, you should be able to do that edit yourself if you go to page 1 and click edit on the top post. However, you obviously need to be logged in as NonElectronics since that's the account the post was made as.

Thanks Didrik, I wasn't aware I could modify the thread title myself! I have done that now.

If someone wants to make that new thread for vendors please feel free.

if only there was some magical international organization in place that regulated the use of domains and protected companies who have had their trademarks squatted, or kept a database of trademarks for new registrations, so people wouldn't have to bicker about stuff like this publicly.

Thanks for that, I checked it out. It seems in addition to there being an international service that focuses on cybersquatting, there is also the Anticybersquatting Consumer Protection Act here in the U.S.

I called GoDaddy to ask what further I could do about these redirecting domains and was given an email address to contact. That's [email protected]

I would encourage the other shop owners who have had their alternate domains compromised to email GoDaddy at this address, report the domains that are being squatted on, and ask for corrective action.

Vendors, if you need a template for this email I can supply you with one, as I have just reached out to them. You can email me to request that email at [email protected]

how did you find out about this anyway? i'd like to know how many clicks these urls would have received had it not been for this thread. I can't honestly imagine it's worth the $100 a year or whatever this is costing. I also don't suspect anyone is going to make a purchase after being redirected to a different site, but maybe that's just wishful thinking.

An artist contacted me on Facebook messenger on February 7th to let me know he had stumbled on one of the three nonelectronics redirects (.org) while attempting to refer others to nonelectronics.com.
