Hey guys, if anyone wants I have the latest Windows and OS X builds:

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/240 … -64bit.zip
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/240 … -10.11.zip

Also if anyone has problems with sending MIDI clock I also managed to make it work

Thanks heaps. I can't grok github enough to be able to figure out how to build an OSX version.

I have some sort of OSX machine and I'm an OSX user. What do I need to do? I do have homebrew installed, if that helps.

Nope, because the name of the file was:
Schismtracker-hg20160307-Mac-OSX-10.11.zip

not
Schismtracker-hg20160307-Mac-OSX-10.11_warning_remember_to_brew_install_sdl_or_it_no_worky.zip wink

easiest would probably be to click the "download zip" option on the right-hand side here

and then follow a mixture of the instructions here and here

i've never used osx and i didn't write the instructions, so no idea how involved that is, or whether it even works. it will probably be a massive pain in the ass, but good luck! might as well wait until we've integrated the midi clock fixes before building anything, unless you really want an up to date version Right Now

p.s. i saw you left some posts on pouet bbs about bugs in schism that put you off using it - anything specific you think we should try to fix?

actually, i know a couple people have definitely had success building on osx from this repo. but i'm no osx user either :) it would be great if we had someone we could rely on for osx builds, because i think all our developers (org members or otherwise) either run windows or linux.

if you taught me how to do the build, i could build it on my osx.

Hey guys! Esa tipped me off on Pouet that there was some ongoing development. As a long time IT & Schism user, I approve of this. smile

I have at my disposal a Macbook Pro running 10.8.5 and a PowerMac G5 running Leopard, both with the last versions of xcode for their respective platforms and gcc + Homebrew + autotools + cmake + etc. I'm happy to help out with OSX builds too, especially for older versions & PowerPC which I still run (I'm definitely not the only one who still has a G5 in my studio.)

@scannerboy - nice to have updates on the MIDI end too, I've been using IT to sequence hardware instruments for a long time but old versions of Schism's timing never seemed accurate enough to do the job.

sorry for the radio silence—builds are finally available for windows & linux, but no osx.

@jmph – it would be awesome if you could help out (read: do all the work) with osx builds! #schismtracker on irc.esper.net is probably the best place for real-time discussion, but github issues work too. i don't normally check this bbs very often (and i don't think sandneil does either).

AWESOME!

Thank you guys very much for the effort.

Schismtracker has been my favourite music-making tool recently.

I've used Schismtracker especially for MOD creation, but now I see there is the AdLib emulation as well, I should have a new fresh look on it (the version in my distribution is 2011-01-01). Thanks for the new releases!

smile i believe its the only tool for making adlib music that fulfils the two key requirements of music software:

a) runs on modern OSes
b) doesnt have a blue-on-blue colour scheme

I don't know how to edit the adlib instruments though...

press alt-z on an empty slot on the f3 page

it's kind of explained here https://github.com/schismtracker/schism … lib-sample

i agree it's not intuitive but it is something you get a feel for gradually
