Rob Hubbard's Highscore song for Commando got a nice sad/sentimental vibe to it. Here, I'm playing it live on two Pocket Operators:

Did I miss a mention of NQ from skrju?
I'm suprised nobody's mentioned "Missing You" by Trash80 yet: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Lb9Fy2H96k. In fact, much of Icarus is somewhat melancholy.
I've also tried my hand at this kind of thing: https://sonussilver.bandcamp.com/track/ amentation
Trash80 hurts so good.
Most of the saddest songs I know are tracker modules or remixes of that. These 3 come to mind:

hey everyone, if you're going to link youtube or vimeo videos, please use BBCode to embed the video
it's pretty easy, here's how you do it
for youtube videos, use [youtube] with the portion of the link after "watch?v=" between the tags. for example, the last link in this thread would be [youtube]OmzLyXR1EYk[/youtube]
for vimeo videos, use the [vimeo] tag with the portion of the link that comes after "vimeo.com/". so for the video in this link https://vimeo.com/169023757, you'd use [vimeo]169023757[/vimeo].
this will make it much easier for people to check out the linked clips. thanks
A lot of my stuff has serious feelings because I was going through a lot of rough stuff at the time of creation. I recommend albums “City Of Forgotten Time” through “Oceans of Dreams and Darkness”. If you’re really down in the dumps, I recommend my Dark Dimension album. It’s not chipmusic, but it’s the same style as my other stuff regarding the darker themes. There are many free songs in my albums so please at least check those out if you don’t feel like buying anything. Also, I get better at making chipmusic with each subsequent album; so that’s why recently released albums sound better than older ones. That’s also due to technical reasons; like older stuff being released at 16 bit depth instead of 24, etc.
TL;DR
I make stuff. Some sad some not. Newer stuff sounds better than older stuff but older stuff is still good. Don’t be put off by price tags because there’s a lot of free stuff in the albums too. Thanks for reading and considering my stuff! If you’re into JonTron you’ll enjoy my extended cover of his intro music, which is also free, titled “Five Years Of JonTron”.
