This question is taken from a swedish music forum but I think that you here might be better fit to answer it.

Listened the other day to koyaanisquatsi and reminded me of a song with a group that I can't remember the name of. However, I remember that the main theme of "vessels" was used in one of the songs but I am not 100% sure that it was a sampling.

Guessing that this may be something that was released in 2000-2010. The music is a bit reminiscent of slagsmålsklubben / pluxus and similar. However, it is quite a high tempo and a slightly harder distortion on the songs. More minor than major.

Have checked whosampled without success.

I typed philip glass chiptune in google, but what it found is more known Prophecies:

I also doubt if that mentioned part is sampled, rather it is rewritten from scratch, because i never heard sampling in chiptunes smile

Ah, forgot this is a purist forum. Switched to here from 8bc ages ago and that was more liberal (I guess).

But thanks for the youtube-videos!

Edit: My title stated "chiptune" I see now.

Considering that I'm a staff member i wouldn't call this a purist forum lol
And dudes like myself & saskrotch have sampled plenty, tbh since i love Glass i kind of wish that I'd sampled his Koyaanisqatsi score. Saw him & a small ensemble perform it live in 2003 or 2004 in Chicago, it was amazing

Wait, Amiga music isn't considered chiptune?

Amiga’s 8-bit (or 14-bit when channels are paired) soundchip Paula have Pulse Code Modulation principle so it is sample-based (none native waveforms), trackers with synthetic sounds use main CPU to calculate them, but of course you can use sampled waveforms and realtime commands including arpeggio so literally thousands of chiptunes was produced also on Amiga.
