Hi there.

Anyone can start these programs on his computer?
ftp://ftp.modland.com/pub/software/trac … v1.03c.lha
ftp://ftp.modland.com/pub/software/trac … 0v4.03.lha
ftp://ftp.modland.com/pub/software/trac … v5.00c.lha

I checked out all of them and no_one works.

Any ideas why?

I can't test right now, but have you extracted the LHAs on the Amiga?
Alternatively, download from here:
http://aminet.net/search?name=octamed&a … 8k-amigaos

Always the same. program in Your links says:
"Can't open asl.library V38"
sad

Actually I have 4.0, but I wanted to take a look on other version, just for curiosity.

Also, the 4.0 has an ugly bug: saving MODs without fine-tunning on instruments.

Ah, you have a problem of kickstarts.
You must have Kickstart 3.0 or above where ASL Library V38 comes, if I am not wrong. What system are you trying to run this on?

OK, so it will not work on my 500+ but should work on emulator, I suspect?
And there I can see the same requester (with a kickstar 3.1).
Ah well. I was only curious. Don't bother.
Thx.

Correct me if I'm retarded...but I'm pretty sure you can run any med/octamed version before sound studio on a a500.

You also need Workbench 3.0+, ASL is an external library, it comes with the OS, not in Intuition.
If you upgrade you A500+ you can use it smile

Tim is right, you can use any otehr Octamed, just not SOund Studio.

Hi Trash,
well, I just thought the last OctaMED for A500 was 4.00. Of course I might be wrong.
Thx man.

Akira: OK then, let's go in this direction, but clearily it's a path of satan. I try to load Workbench 3.1 into emulator (A1200, kick 3.1). It stops with AmigaDOS displayed window and "1>" with cursor.
Then it's dead.
Through these 15 years I forgot how user-unfriendly Amigas are. Grrr.
Thanks for Your time dude.

PS: I found some better 3.1 and testing it now.

You are confusing OctaMED with OctaMED Sound Studio. They are two different programs.
OctaMED's latest version is indeed 4.o, then teh evolution, OctaMED Sound Studio had many others. It's quite a different program.

You have a bad Workbench image.
Send me an email and I'll sort you out smile

Hehehe.
At the 1.> prompt you can try to type "loadwb", see what it does. Then insert the OctamedSS disk and boot the program.

Not working for me either. I remember having issues with Octamed/A 500 a few years ago actually.

Tested on both hardware and emulation.

Wait! Nevermind. I guess I have a faulty disk drive on the A500 and my cover-disk version of Octamed 4 is the only one that works.

Not user friendly indeed!

Guys, Octamed SOUND STUDIO will NOT work on a stock A500/A500+/A600/A1000/A1500/A2000/A2500/A3000/A3000+ and anything else I forgot that comes de-facto with anything below KS 3.0 tongue

Well, finally - after some titanic war, I stood over the enemy's carrion, lookin' on the battlefield through the smoke.

I loaded the fuckin' 5.0. smile
Well, I must admit I would never learn how to use it. smile It's faaaaar too complicated. The old good 4.0 had only several windows and everything on the screen - I admit it looked like mess smile but everything was avalable with one click. And here everything is well-hidden. wink

Ah well, it was only my curiosity after all.

Btw Akira, what editor do You use on Amiga?
