i just got a 2600.
i had one eons ago, but the power level snapped and i couldnt ever fix it.

so my new console is working great.
i have 18 games, some are awesome, others terrible.
(i remember that's how the dawn of gaming was)

the nine best titles i have (in no order):

Keystone Kapers
Pac-Man
Dig-Dug
Space Invaders
Air-Sea Battle
Breakout
Haunted House
Surround
Q'Bert

there's an awesome used video game store at the flea market
in my town. the guy has stacks of games, but im not sure what to get.

can i have your suggestions for "must have" 2600 titles?

thanx ;D

Yars' Revenge
Galaxian
Pitfall II: Lost Caverns
Berzerk

Have all captured my imagination at some point.

If you are feeling particually adventurous you could always play ET!

Laser Blast. I got soo good at that game. I once played for literally 5 hours before getting owned.
Air Sea Battle is where it's at for multiplayer, as well as Warlords.

Also, if you liked Haunted House you should also play Adventure.

I'll need to dig through my 70+ Atari 2600 games to see which ones I can remember as being good. big_smile

Asteroids and HERO are also very good. River Raid. Basically anything by Activision is gonna be good. If you want a good laugh play Freeway. Frogger.

Choplifter and Towering Inferno are also good.

A few I used to love were Riddle Of The Sphinx, Starmaster, & Moonsweeper. Haven't played any of them in decades, so all I have to go by is my unverified memory of them having been awesome. Your mileage may vary.

I have nothing to add, but I have a record of Yars Revenge songs, it's got VL-tone rhythms and vocoders.

Get a set. They're on eBay all the time. You'll have a blast!

I believe Warlords uses the same controller, up to four in fact - that's another "must have" game for 2600.

NB the controllers you need for Kaboom! are the "paddle" controllers - not the similar "driving" controller, that's for other games.

The paddles come in pairs (on the same joystick port) so two sets can be doubled for 4-player games.
