You know mate, that is very very similar to my taste., I havent head the Fonix stuff though,
Some C64 stuff. There are links to both SID files and the original (PAL) exe files, but I think you miss some of the feeling just listening to the sids.
"CTR Sonix #13" by Mermaid: http://noname.c64.org/csdb/release/?id=19812
"Ghost Escapes body" by Kjell Nordbo: http://noname.c64.org/csdb/release/?id=9600
( Kjell's other work can be got here: http://noname.c64.org/csdb/group/?id=253 )
Early c64 demoscene music:
Neil Baldwin's early works: http://noname.c64.org/csdb/release/?id=20057 & http://noname.c64.org/csdb/release/?id=23497
The Mighty Bogg's "Album #2": http://noname.c64.org/csdb/release/?id=18437
Yip/Purebyte's "Soundmachine": http://noname.c64.org/csdb/release/?id=8663
stu - Atari Solo
Saitone - Overlapping Spiral
These two are probably my favorite in my hard copy collection, but I think they were already mentioned. Both Leeni albums are really nice!
Syphus - Careful Hedgehog - one of the most innovative, well-produced, inspiring chip songs I've ever heard
Jeroen Tel - Stranglehold - painfully minimal and beautiful
IDK if this has been said, but both Chrance 1 and 2 were really good. I had downloaded because they were made free and was greatly surprised uppon listening. Awesome dance music.
Geir Tjelta 'AHX To Excess'
http://www.mono211.com/content/releases/mtkmp107.html
Ilkae 'Stained Glass Confetti EP'
http://www.mono211.com/content/releases/mtkmp133.html
Blasterhead 'Killbots EP'
http://www.mono211.com/content/releases/mtkmp124.html
Various 'Best Of AHX Vol.1:Dexter's Pinkboratory'
http://www.mono211.com/content/releases/mtkmp96.html
There's a few for you
Cannot recommend any more those two AHX releases from the masters of the format, Geir Tjetla and Pink!
Pamplemousse. I seriously listened to that album like 200 times since I got it.
+1 on this.
Superb!
I found more of my physical copies just now, but for recommendations see posts on pages 1 & 6.
Beck - Bad Cartridge / Bit Rate Variations in B-Flat (These are remixes by Paza (The X-Dump) of songs on the CD "Guero", not original Beck songs worked on chipsets.)
The 8-bit Construction Set - Atari Vs. Commodore (Check out the data programs etched in vinyl.)
Anything by Touchboy.
Outside of 8bp050, what releases is he featured on? None I know about. And that's pathetic because he's awesome.
Vibrants - Smack My SID Up
PRI - Bronx Vanilla (and every other song by him, check Pool Party especially)
Jeroen Tel - That's the Way it Is
Fanta - Fanta in Space
Purple Motion & Skaven - Second Reality soundtrack (not really chip? listen to it anyway)
kb - Second Reality soundtrack (for the C64 remix of the demo)
XLENT - A Final Hyperbase - Enigma [Hyperbased 'enjoy the pokey' 2xatarixl mix]
Dane - Edge of Disgrace soundtrack (under Musicians\Mitch and Dane\Dane in the HVSC)
I agree with Misfit Chris and Akira about the two AHX ones also, they are great.
