I've got a handful of noisemaker roms that I keep on a spare 64M cart (pixelh8, shitwave, etc). They all have very similar or non-descriptive names on the cart menu. I've tried to rename them thru the EMS software but it doesn't seem to work.
How does I dood it properly?
I think you change the filename before loading it into the ems software.
I'll try it again but I don't think that's worked in the past.
if that doesn't work, could you open the rom in a hex editor and find the file name and then edit it there?

That's what I ended up having to do. At least now I can easily tell stuff apart.
