I like mocp, and also cplay. For command line it's actually handy to just throw open an extra session in tmux or screen and then just run mplayer.

audacious have tons of plugins, also has JACK output. this is what i use almost everyday.

moc is actually awesome and it has goot the console toggle/stop/prev/next commands to bind the hotkeys on which aren't many console based players have. Thank's for that!

plattforma, almost all of the linux audio players have this feature smile. Is a matter of choice. for me the JACK support is key. but yeah, moc is amazing, you can even change the skin.
