maybe you could try a front lit DMG? it wouldn't be as good as a backlit one in the dark, but it would be better in the daylight

yep here is the tutorial:

unsolder DMG CPU,
solder in SGB CPU

job done!

lol awesome.  Thanks for the reassurance.  I didnt know if there was any extra wiring or other steps.  Have you noticed better performance from your gameboy in processing power?  I'm considering trying this because my gameboy tends to freeze in live mode on some of my more complicated songs.

there is no extra wiring needed its a straight swap, but you need decent soldering skills.
