DIGI_DIG by goto80 is a great album, the first chiptune release I ever got addicted to. Listen to bullcactus.
Probably a stupid question, but I figure I'll ask it anyway. Which artists really demonstrate the most versatility and overall craziness of LSDJ? Besides the obvious choices like Bit Shifter and Nullsleep, I'm looking to dig a little deeper.
Thanks!

For me, PDF Format demonstrates some of the finer points of constructing music in LSDJ. But BEASTMODE, IAYD, FIGHTERX, or ELECTRIC CHILDREN/Circles are all good places to learn a few tricks as well.

I think TreyFrey is a flat-out LSDJ master.
DEADBEATBLAST's list is good. (DEADBEATBLAST is good, too.)
I'm not a huge Cheapshot fan, but he knows how to program.
Also, Peer (the ablum "Dances"). He does some neat stuff.
Zef's programming always impresses me. As does MONODEER.
Also, this song's bass: https://8bc.org/music/Monomania/West/

and thats pretty much it from me. i dont listen to too much other than that on a reg basis
Besides the obvious 8bitpeoples releases, I'm surprised I didn't see anyone mention AFX's Melodies from Mars. While somewhat 'mainstream', that release is solely responsible for my friends getting into making wonky, degraded-quality demo-music.
After hearing that we literally sat around for months recording old BGM into Acid and rendering it down to CDs for later listening/sampling. At this point we had no idea any type of 'community' existed. It took plodding around on myspace to realize that. ha.
HELO compilation (NC000) on http://www.noisechannel.org. We have everyone on there, Fighter X, Chipzel, 4mat, you name it. 42 artists total, all badasses.
