Okay, nooby question here.
I'm confuzzled.
The answers are all around the forum, but I'm still going to ask here because I need it summarized.

What do I need to play a live show?
I'm planning to buy a modded GB and I figured I might as well buy a MIDI mod if it's necessary for shows.
I would be running 1 GB with LSDJ, no Fruity loops or Ableton. So I'd need a link cable for syncing with other GBs.
Is a MIDI mod really necessary? Do I need other stuff too? Jack outputs?

Thanks

midi mod is not essential at all. i mean, basically you just need a gameboy, cart, cables and either a cheap mixer or a DI box. BAM showtime

Good advice! Some people just don't take it seriously.

Boom. Cheap ass 4 channel Alesis mixer. Recommend.

Edit: It's good for a 1x lsdj gameboy and a 2xlsdj setup and a laptop. 4 ins, endless possibility.

Custom LSDJ graphics patches and custom LSDJ WAV kits.

If you want a custom LSDJ graphics patch made just for you I might just be able to help you out.

(I don't have a download link for the LSDJ kits but if you want some I can send you a bunch of them attached to an email or something.)

I can also hook you up with some other awesome GB ROMs that you can use to make sound/music and some NES ROMs for live visuals.

^ neither custom graphics nor custom kits are something you need to play gigs

I totally love the crude basics, so I'm glad you're not obliging me to buy a dozen mods. Thanks!
The pro sound jack does seem rather handy though, and so do the the RCAs

Thought so, that's some strange viral marketing right there

I would like to add, make sure the songs are good, make sure you have at least one back up gameboy and cart and PRACTICE before you play.

personally, i find the prosound mod to not make much difference in live settings if you're going to run through a mixer anyway... handy for recording though if you aren't used to software noise reduction... backlight can be handy. but you can also use snap-on Nuby lights, a small desk lamp or just use a gba sp live...
