Could I ask why you're only offering $20 for 5 tracks, when on your own website it says you're a composer and you charge $50 to $100 for just 2 tracks?

I'd be willing to write what you need if you're willing to negotiate a bit on price.

Composing Portfolio (featuring videos, game history, with a showreel at the bottom):

max i can offer is 20% of the sponsor money, as soon as we find one.
and I can't offer much money unti i get any, right?

does my portfolio look like a hell lot of works?
did any of you try to sell music?? i tried that and its very hard, trust me!
cause there are lots of musicians /composers out there.. even offering their work for free..
artists and programmers are much less numerous..

well I understand that 20$ is almost an abuse.. or it is just that smile  and I'm sorry for that
but i can't offer something I don't have
so i hope rev share looks more appealing to you.. 20%
I did soundtracks for free myself (and here i offer you little money or rev share)

5 tracks?

1 - menu
2 - ingame... let it be only 1
3 - short tune.. just one phrase for YOU lose
4 - short tune for You win

and I'll probably help you with tunes and melodies in midi.. so you'll have to arrange them, or make your own..

I'm not representing a huge studio or something, I'm an indie developer cooperating with a pixel artist.
I have one game finished, and I definitely dont do kilo $.. yet

If I fail to find a composer.. I'll do the tracks myself, and this looks like a nice chance to get into chiptuning
I hope I didn't sound rude or something
this was just an offer..

so 20%
say if we sell it for 300$ you get 60,  etc
and you also get 20% from all sitelocks we sell later

but I Need tracks that I like
syncamore your tracks were 3/5
in my personal opinion smile smile

I'm really not sure if this is an insult or not because of the language barrier. Either way, thanks for listening.

I have actually successfully sold music and continue to do so, and so has br1ght pr1mate. The last job I finished (just a few days ago actually) for 2 tracks and some sfx paid $250, and that was from a 2 man indie.

I have no problem at all with developers asking for people to do free work for free games by the way. I just find it a bit rich you're offering us much less than what you obviously consider to be the going rate for this kind of work ($20 compared to your rate for 5 tracks - $125 to $250).

I will say no more. Good luck with your game.

He said he didn't like your tracks enough, which is neither an insult nor a language barrier issue. Taste is a personal thing.

well, his pay rate is at best 1/5, so sycamore drive's 3/5 should be more than adequate ;]

this is an offer which you can accept or decline
i already said: that 20$ is totally microscopic that's why I offer rev share
looks like you have better alternatives, thats cool

as for the rates
do you think recording live instruments and making multiple takes ( so that the recorded lines are all clean ) is easier?
also consider buying all those instruments, new strings, guitar preamps, ....
can I order a live track from you: live guitar, bass and say.. trumpet or sax? for 25 or 50$ (my rates)
also doing some changes due to customer request?

I guess I'll have to do the tracks myself.. that's no problem too
and I tell you this is much easier
and i'm already into it smile
hello chiptunes : i'm coming:)
ahh.. money talks always make me feel uncomfortable..

I tried it and making more than 20$ wasn't that hard at all.

Hey, I contacted you on FGL. wink  I am interested in the rev share and have dealt with FGL deals before so I'm down if you still are.
