Is there a way to swap the backlit color screen over to the original Gameboy I've seen ones with the colortinted backlit screen but I want a Gameboy advance backlit screen in my 1989 model

You can't backlight gameboy colors or gameboy advances. You can front light them. There's a difference though. Uhmm as for swapping the screen and keeping the internals the same it's also not possible but you can put a pocket screen in a DMG but it takes a lot of work. However I can give you the email of a guy that can put a gameboy advance sp into an original gameboy case for you but it'll cost about 350$ lol message me on fb if you are interested. Just go to http://store.kitsch-bent.com/product/ledx3 and buy a new backlight for your GB. Don't waste your time trying to cannibalise your GBA.
