I passed on the transferer 1 if anyone else was interested. It was posted on the LSDJ mailing list https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/lsdj/info I've just been spending too much money lately.

So having played with it more I feel stupid. I wasn't getting the same sounds because It was in a different octave. It seems to work best in about 4-6.

Sorry if this is against the rules but i wasn't allowed to post a response to the thread in question and I'm looking for help about it. I wasn't given any indication of when I'd be able to post on this. Is there some number of posts I have to do before I can bump old posts?
so...
Following this http://chipmusic.org/forums/topic/8137/ patch-how/
I love this organ sound and am trying to reproduce it. However, after checking and rechecking many times the images provide, my sounds is still sounds like a buzzsaw rather than the fantastic organ that fluxer created. I can provide screen shots of my dmg if that would be helpful. I just can not reproduce this sound. Is there any pages missing? I've tried messing with commands and tables but haven't gotten anywhere. I don't suppose fluxer happens to still have a sav file from this experiment?

It sounds like you're pretty new to LSDJ sound design- I would start by defining the drum sounds (make a separate instrument for each piece of a drum kit- ni hat, snare, kick, crash, etc) and use that to reign in the drum pattern.
.
Soo much a noob heh. i've spent more time modding dmgs than playing with lsdj heh.
What specifically do you mean by reign in the drum pattern?

Thanks! I was kind of thinking the same thing.

Someone on the lsdj mailing list is looking to unload one for the cost of shipping but it's a 1 and i only see stuff for the 2. Should i just pass on it?

I can't seem to find this anywhere but... what's the difference between the gb transferer 1 and the gb transferer 2?

I have two lsdj tracks so far and would love some comments on both or either of them. The chiptunes subreddit can be a bit low on commentary sometimes, so I figure it's better to try here. Anyway.

This one is my first track that I felt even moderately happy with.

This one I just posted. It's still a work in progress, but I needed to get it out of my gameboy and out into the world and move on to other stuff for a while.
Thoughts? What can I do to get better?

There are a ton of them on Amazon and ebay but the general consensus seems to be that they suck.

I'm so frustrated by this I'm seriously thinking about bagging the whole damn thing and just buying one.

Honestly if I had known what I know now about Game Boy LCDs I may have thought twice about going all in with thursdaycustoms. I lose a lot of money on LCDs that seem to be good and then once I open them up there is some cancer in the corners or the contrast wasn't set just right so you couldn't see the horizontal lines or something like that.
What do you do at that point? Just chuck the whole thing?

Re: Bad lcds? (15 replies, posted in Nintendo Handhelds)
... Well that explains what that is. The bottom of the lcd is covered in that crap. Ugh. At least the one that is coming came with a game that i can sell to recoup the cost of the gameboy itself. People being too lazy to sell Pokemon by itself ftw

Yeah. I have another one coming. I mostly was going to cover the cost of buying a new soldering iron. But didn't look like that is happening -_-
What do you mean cancer in the corner?

Re: Bad lcds? (15 replies, posted in Nintendo Handhelds)
I have two already actually. Both developed the same problem though not to the same degree. I've got another one coming but i was hoping to sell it to cover part of the cost of the other two. I guess I should look for ones with dead vertical lines to fix as they are probably cheaper.

Just super frustrating when you spend time making a gameboy the way you want it and a week after you're done it gives you the finger making it irritating to use and useless for resale.

Is it just me or are the LCDs in dmg pretty well crap? Both times I've gotten dmgs the lcds develop dead horizontal lines after a while. I know there is generally no fix, is there anyone who sells replacement lcds? I thought i wanted to try to mod and sell dmgs but this is a huge pain in the ass even if i just want one for myself.
