Where does it store the sram files on the phone if you read the sram from the cartridge? I wanted to back up the few lsdj songs I have but I don't see the sram I told it to save to the phone.

The default location when you first install the app is "Downloads/ems-saves"

Hopefully that helps?

Well, that was what I tried to do: backup the final fantasy save before switching to lsdj on bank 0. If you save the song in lsdj it will not be messed up. Besides, the messed up ones sound pretty cool. I have a bunch of roms on bank1, but I can do with just one game rom. Lsdj I rather keep on the cart all the time.

Edit: I downloaded the sram to my phone, but when I put it back on the ems it did not work. Maybe because you always start in bank0 where I have lsdj and lsdj write over sram instantly.

Interesting, I'll have to try that out. It could be, as you say, to do with bank 0 loading first...

I have been using this app for a little while and it works awesome. Since I use a mac and bootcamp windows 8 this is a relief.

I was trying to backup some game saves, but that did not seem to work. I only see LSDj files. And here I was hoping to play Final Fantasy, also! Can you backup game saves?!

Thanks for a great app!

Yea it should work fine with game as well but it won't show any detailed info on the SRAM screen. It'll just say "type: unknown"

I'll test it with Final Fantasy and see if it's doing what it's supposed to...

Do you have lsdj in one bank and a game in the other? As I don't think that will work since the EMS carts only have one SRAM that is shared by both banks.

thank you for this app, I don't use windows so it's great to be able to backup and transfer data using my android tablet!

Happy to help :-)

This app rocks!  Thanks a ton.  Any chance of integrating the Java sample patcher into this app?  I'd love to work PC-free, but that one feature keeps me tethered to my desk.  I'd gladly pay for a standalone app, or this app with that feature included.

Yes! That's definitely something I'd like to add in the next major update :-)

Doing away with the PC is probably my biggest motivation for this app heheh :-P

OK, checked all voltage regulators and all within spec. Swapped out the Flash IC with a known good one, Fault remains (Though I did pull the page1+2 ROM's off the original flash). Swapped out the MBC (FPGA) and moved the fault to my cart and restored functionality in yours. Confirmed dead FPGA (Part number - SiliconBlue ICE65L-04F-L)

These are available but unfortunately the ROM within is write only. Has anyone come across the VHDL or binary for this FPGA?

Or does anyone have a dead cart they would like to donate?

I think the best bet would be to ask on the hkems board. Maybe they'd give you a binary... or they might just send a replacement.

I'm not sure my android devices support OTG but I'll have a look anyway! Thanks a lot for pointing it out.

If you want to find out if your phone supports OTG, you can install the app and try "Detect USB device" from the menu (even without a USB device connected).
If you don't see the message "Sorry your device does not appear to support usb host." then it probably supports it smile

Here's a screenshot of the message:

The new version is now available in the Play store smile

Anyone interested in beta testing the new app?

If so, PM me smile

I'm working on a new version of this App with ROM capability and a bit of lsdj song management built in smile

really wish this worked on lower versions of android hmm

How low would you like it to go?
It currently goes down to 4.0...

Yeap! I'm working on ROM flashing right now :-)

I'm glad you like it!

It's great that you've made this, very much appreciated!  I'm looking forward to this developing and expanding.

Thanks for the encouragement egr smile

I just want to share with you all a handy Android app that I've made for transferring saves to/from EMS 64M flash cartridges using a USB-OTG cable.

You can find the app for free on the Play Store here: http://play.google.com/store/apps/detai … emsflasher

I personally find it really useful for backing up LSDJ songs while I'm out and about (pretty much every day), and easily swapping between the EMS 64M flash cart and my Android emulators :-)

Edit: Support for Andriod down to 4.0 is now done

Edit: Now has ROM flashing and lsdj song manager functions built in.
It's also heaps easier to pick files with the new file picker instead of guessing file names :-)

The new version can also be installed on devices without OTG capabilities but only the song manager part will work. (if you're not sure just install and try 'detect device' and it'll say 'sorry you don't have usb otg' if you don't)
