Last weekend (30-09-2017) we played a chiptune concert for the visitors of gamedev conference of Slovak University of Ss. Cyril and Methodius in Trnava.
Quite a nice event. Mostly we played ZX Spectrum micromusic (YM/AY) but also Atari ST stuff (the same chip) and Pinokio added something form his ATARI 130XE.
As usual - live synths and live drums were present, along with several projections of 8-bit games and demos on bigscreens and huge oldschool CRT TV-set. smile

DELETED btw.

This was instead https://chipmusic.org/forums/topic/1977 … i-concert/

Anyway, maybe there will be another occasion to make a fully Atari ST gig.

PS.2: ZX Spectrum Next will solve most of those problems supposedly. Not the 100% solution but - who knows, maybe it is?
Surely the most comfortable way, I'm sure You're right.

PS: Something like 3 years ago I was making some test with my friend LVD, in the subject-matter.
We managed to merge on one Spectrum: 2 AY chips and the GS. 10 channels in total.
The test sounded like this: http://yerzmyey.i-demo.pl/ts_gs_test.mp3
But for now we stopped the works. Probably we're too old. wink

Hi there!

Sadly all the matters with retro-computers are complicated and annoying, hehe.

The card can be bought from Tetroid -
http://www.sellmyretro.com/offer/detail … n%29-10892
and it looks like this:

Zaxon has made some interface for it, with his DIVMMC interface (a flash-drive for ZX Spectrum - with it You don't have to load from tape any more wink ). http://www.jungsi.de/divmmc-zaxon-retro … -spectrum/

Still, one would have to contact Zaxon in person to order the special DIVMMC version with the slot for Neo GeneralSound.
Also - special software would be required.

I don't recommend it as it's a way through an actual hell.

Probably it would be easier to get two Amiga 500 computers and make some MODs to play them simultaneously from both machines (or record two 'halves' of a song from one A500 and mix them on a PC).

I suspect a better way might be to use the Windows' VortexTracker II and comfortably make chiptunes for two AY chips (6 channels)...? Hmmmm.

Heyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy,
thanks a lot, guys!! Means muuuuuch to me.

Well, as for the links, I'm afraid the server isn't mine, so its owner might be pissed off, if I put there all my content TWICE. smile smile smile But that's why I used Sendspace, just in case somebody would need entire ZIP. I hope it's not a problem (sorryyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!)

As for recording, it's not too much of a trouble actually - I just connect the machines into my PC and record the stuff. For recording I use CoolEdit Pro and SoundForge. Then - some typical stuff like "Center wave", "Normalize", "Noise gate" and so on. Old machines - when they're stereo - they have usually a radical stereo-separation, so I use then the "Channels mixer" to get the channels 'closer' each other.
But anyway each song comes from its own machine, so no problems with synchronization.
At least not for now. If I would like to make some experiments mixing various oldschool machines together, then I might find myself in a trouble indeed, hehehe.

But for now I only consider trying to make some album with chiptunes (AY) and MODs mixed together, which will be a bit easier than You guys could think because I would use a ZX Spectrum with GeneralSound card - then it would be able to play MODs and chips together. wink

Greetzzzzzzzzzzz!!!!!!!!!!

Hey guys, after a year - some small info here.

A little bit of some new chiptune/micromusic squeaking and creaking on various oldschool machines from 80s and 90s.

As usual, it's some reasonably new stuff, which means it's collected from last two years of my activity.

Like Xyno suggested. People also play on keyboards of C64.

Or - one just can get some toy-keyboard to make the micromusic more interesting.

It's really fun.

Good luck.

A curiosity - the SID-Emulator for ZX Spectrum computers. Made by Geco from the version for the Enterprise computers.

Yes. Very good.

Well, nobody will go abroad just to see/hear such stuff but if You're close to Danzig, You might just consider this.

YM-DIGITAL the Atari 520ST band - along with the drummer Pinokio - will play a gig at "RetroKomp /LOAD ERROR 2017" multiplatform party, taking a place in 20-22.10.2017. The club's name is "Scena Muzyczna GAK", its address is: Powstańców Warszawskich Street no. 25, 80-152 Gdańsk, Poland.

The party's site: http://retrokomp.org/?lang=en_US
The band's site: http://ym-digital.i-demo.pl/
The club's site: http://www.scenamuzyczna.pl/

The concert might sound like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cHGBCBLuSrU but of course with ST instead of Falcon.
Another thing is, I dunno how about Factor6 but I don't have enough of material, so I intend to play some of my Falcon and TT songs too. smile

We will play in 20.10.2017.
But if You'd be interested in ATARI XL/XE too, then a day later - 21.10.2017 - in the same place, Pinokio will play a solo gig with ATARI 8bit and drums.
Which definitely will sound like this smile https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DL9J7r6H1gA

Regards.
