Thanks! Some of those issues come from mixing while making it on my gba, which i have learned is not at all representative of how it will sound when normally listened to. This is all very helpful, thanks again!

Thanks! I tend to overlook the noise channel and get set on a drum pattern and maybe don't vary it enough. There are kicks there but maybe they don't stand out enough.

Thanks! I definitely do try to make what I like. For example I'm not crazy about EDM/dubstep inspired stuff. Have been trying to grow and get feedback in terms of instrumentation etc and how to get a fuller sound out of LSDJ than I have in the past.

Tried to take into consideration feedback I have received here before. Tried to vary the instruments more, add more variation in sound and use tables more. I fear it has gone too far into "shrill" territory. Anyway, I hope some progress has been made but open to hearing what you have to say and learning more, thanks! smile

I dig it! with the square wave counter-lead, it might sound more interesting just with different instrumentation. Maybe a longer attack time to simulate strings?

Wow thanks that is awesome! Sorry if I unintentionally didn't incorporate any advice you gave last time! I tried to play with with L and V throughout the melody and add bits here and there. This gives me a ton more to play around with!

I have been uploading straight from the GB so perhaps I am underestimating how much post-processing can do smile

I still need to check if I have seen those vids, but even if I have, I find that something that made less sense originally makes more sense at a later time once i've played around in LSDJ a bit more.

thanks again!

This is my second LSDJ song and would love any feedback/criticism. Specifically, I am trying to figure out how to make it sound "thick". I feel like there are tricks I am not utilizing. I'll think this song sounds okay until I hear it next to other chiptunes that sound thicker.

I never liked how the c function sounded in this song when I'd apply it, although I am sure I will use it more in the future. Beyond that and making chords (i.e., copy pu1 into pu2 or wav and make it a few notes to an octave higher), I am a bit lost. Thanks a bunch!

Thanks a bunch! For my next attempt i have as suggested moved drums to the noise channel. I will look into those references if i haven't already (I have watched lots of YouTube videos but can't remember names). Thanks again!

Awesome thanks!

I'll have to go back to some tutorials on percussion in the noise channel and pu. Thanks again!

Thanks a bunch! I tried playing around with vibrato a bit, among some other effects and definitely want to build from there. Agree not doing much with the noise channel. Will be looking to do more. I am trying to wrap my head around the fact that pu1 and pu2 do not seem to be created equal, in that one cant do certain effects, right?

Hi all, I was hoping to get some feedback on my first attempt navigating LSDJ. Happy to hear and feedback anyone has on composition, instruments, or whatever. Just trying to learn and hope this will be a good place to give and receive feedback in the future. Much appreciated!
