It's not that Android is slow per se... It's that the hardware driving the OS could be lacking the RAM or processor power to pull off the computations. I don't think there's anything wrong with the operating system per se. Lets just hope the hardware catches up to fully unlock Android's possibilities.
That's neat. I'd imagine a touch-screen sequencer interface has a ton of challenges to overcome.
I have an idea for one here -- but I really can't find any for the mobile OS. Anyone have experience with any? Would be sweet if there were some sort of 8bit tracker for the phone.
Hey all. I think something fun would be if each of us made just a super simple, 3-5 second chiptune clip to serve as notification sounds for our cell phones. I personally wouldn't mind having a different short chip-tune clip for each event in my phone.. new texts, event reminders, etc.. I would think something along the lines of... like a "level up" song from an 80s game.
So -- super simple -- just do a quick one and post it here. We can all mix and match and make sweet chiptune sound themes for our phones. If you guys are down for the idea, I can make a chipmusic.org Android soundboard that people can get for free and easily add those sounds to their phone too! Android needs something like this. Search the Market for "chiptune" and you get one match for some game someone made. That's a niche waiting to be filled.

Just wanted to add that I provided some additional ways to get the music.. USB Robot for $10 and mp3 download for $4.50. take care, all.
ha! close.
Let me start by saying this is not a chiptune album. I am an admirer of the genre and a loving member of this forum -- I enjoy all the releases that I hear here. So this is not chiptune, but it is electronic and influenced by many of you, so I did want to share it here -- so open minds please.
With a twist on distribution. It's for sale through my website and comes packed with two additional albums on a custom robot USB thumbdrive.
You can preview the whole album here:
