Mega bummed I didn't know about this earlier. sad

I like mocp, and also cplay. For command line it's actually handy to just throw open an extra session in tmux or screen and then just run mplayer.

blargg - ive been a big fan of your work for years, but your own health takes precedent, I hope you can find a way to reconcile the offline and online junk, but until then you should feel free to take all the time off you need!

Thanks for all the cool stuff youve given us to play with!

I can heartily second that! smile

In the meantime, I think I have at least enough stuff straightened out to at least get a first revision production run off the ground. It'll likely be a hybrid production, requiring donors for the case, CIC, and MMC1 chip, but supplying fresh new PCBs with new SRAM and Flash chips.

Yup, tac.bread is right. Now, the reason I'm offering to do this as custom builds specifically is that most of No Carrier's software is the kind of thing you'll want to customise before you get it made into a cartridge. I'm more than happy to make a cartridge of anything that he wrote that you then customise, and unlike other reproduction services I won't keep hold of your ROM forever and distribute it to other people. Say you use his VegaPlay to make a NES cartridge album and have be burn some copies for you. I won't distribute them to anyone else for any reason, so your work will be safe.

This doesn't jive well with the open source GPL license of my software. Get in touch with me ASAP if this is your plan.

This post/listing/whatever is super old. I am no longer doing custom carts on a one-off basis, as all my energy towards NES hobby stuff right now is with Munchausen. Not to pour water on people's fires, but I just don't have time to be hand wiring a bunch of carts all completely custom with all the other work I have right now. So fear not NO CARRIER, I'll not be pirating your work any time soon. smile

EDIT: and, on second thought, could I also have a mod please lock this one? Thanks a bunch.

Oh man, sorry about that. I was out of town for a week. Checking messages etc. right now. smile

I hope I can get this thing off the ground again. It's about time, and almost 1 year since we started the project.

EDIT: I intend to work my behind off on as much of this as I can tonight and tomorrow. That will hopefully get the beta purchasers taken care of. Then I will be sitting down with Kitsch post-haste to get some details knocked out for production.

I actually JUST talked to Blargg. Just now. I randomly bumped into him on IRC. He's sounding really burned out, but he did give the OK to release!

From what I've read, when building a tesla coil you have to actually manufacture a lot of the parts yourself and cannibalize from other sources. Many of the parts you need will be difficult or impossible to otherwise get ahold of. None the less, it is cool to see and hear someone playing sound through a tesla coil's PCM chip!

In the meantime, you can play around with Airwindows free plug-in Nikola "an attempt to do the sound of an audio Tesla Coil."

I just thought I'd point out that just as a guitar amp doesn't have a PCM chip, so too does a tesla coil lack a PCM chip.

Thanks for the interest, but the stuff I mentioned in here is old news. I have a new flash cartridge coming along (slowly, so sloooowly. sorry.) which I hope to eventually make for sale. Unfortunately life has been hell for me lately and I haven't had the time to really work on anything, which makes me very sad. So please stay tuned.

I got a working C64 kicking around, but it's PAL. PM me.

This thing is fun, but the hard final level is really really REALLY insane. Beyond my skill level for sure. Also, I don't know if this behavior is intentional or not, but bats will blow up spikes, sometimes in very odd ways.

EDIT: I'm also curious if you plan on using a different mapper down the road, or keeping the one you are using now.

Good golly, solid silver buttons. What next. Though I have to agree with Bit Shifter, it takes a bit more than just swapping in some silver buttons to make it art IMO. For example, many PC case mods (over the top example) I would call art, but they are often changing far more than a few buttons.

EDIT: That said, do not let me or anyone else discourage your tinkering or making. I too have gotten more than my share of "it's just hardware MAKE MUSIC BLERGGGGGGG" but I think it's very valuable to have hardware people around here too. Keep it up! smile

hey arfink, take your time man!

and you better start selling this babies at some point!!!

I had been working with Kitsch on that, but it got put on hold because of the licensing schtuff. But with any luck I'll have that cleared up soon.

First of all, I apologise for the lack of initiative on my part. My priorities have been a big mess lately, and I have been neglecting this project. Mea Culpa. sad

Secondly, it looks like I may be able to ship this with code after all. Fingers crossed.

Glorious. Simply glorious. smile I will be getting on this with my Apple IIgs shortly.
