Yeah, here is proper operational mode:

Turn on, bank 1. Turn off, then quickly back on, bank 2. Turn off, wait for, say, 10 seconds or so, turn back on, bank 1. Reset by pressing start-select-a-b, and it should only reset the selected game, not return to the menu.

Seriously, put LSDJ or something in both banks. Empty uninitialized banks would totally bork something, I should know.

Hrm, this sounds like it might be a case of a defective cart, as I have never gotten stuck in bank 2. Is the bank light on? If it is, then you're stuck in bank 2. If not, then you have some kind of memory corruption.

I suggest you reflash the cart and put something inconsequential into bank 2, and see what happens then.

EDIT: If you're flicking your GB on and off alot on stage, I think that's somewhat problematic in itself IMO. Alternatively, since both banks share the same NVRAM, you could load LSDJ into both of them and forget about it.

Um, yes, Duragon, I could still say DURR I PAIDEDEDED SO ITS MINES. They should be doing MMOs via P2P anyways, it just makes more sense.

Oh, and by the way, server maintenance is not so expensive it requires THAT much money from each player. No friggin' way. Not when it's like WOW, which has so many friggin players over whom a more reasonable charge could be divided. If it does, their server code is whack and/or they should fire their maintenance team and get people who can keep the uptime going. Personally, it just smacks too much of the old mainframe/timeshare systems of yore, which while cool, were phased out in favor of personal computing for a good reason.

The Stargate 2 beta my buddies pirated looked impressive. But I'm never going to play the full version or buy it, because a) I have Starcraft 1 which is great for LAN parties which is the only time I play it anyway, b) stupid perverse Battle Net 2, c) it's Blizzard, and I hate them now that they're owned by Activision, d) I'd rather be playing Metal Slug anyway.

Forgot to mention this. I play at least once a week, usually twice. Most excellent!

Well, I am a very big nerd, so I guess I should post up, eh?

Lets see, where to start- I'm obsessed with vintage electronics in general, but especially old computers. I have a reasonably large collection, which would, if I had money, would become far too large to manage. smile At the moment I am in possession of an Apple IIgs, Tandy 102, Tandy 200, Tandy 1100 HD, and a Tandy PC2. (I'm a bit of a Tandy freak!) I play around with Linux on a regular basis, but whenever anyone asks me what my favorite OS is I always say Prodos. Usually Prodos 8.

I am also big into- PHILOSOPHY. I hold a philosophy degree from the University of St. Thomas, and I can and will argue with you about anything, if you so desire, though Philosophy of God is probably the most fun.

If I can take a soldering iron to something I usually do. If I can build it myself instead of buying one, I usually do. I also have this tendency to turn Nerf guns into deadly foam-launching weapons of death, or squirt guns into flamethrowers, etc.

Lastly, I am very into classic video games. Especially NES and Neo Geo. Not so much the Neo Geo Pocket, but the BIG ones. You know, the ones with carts as big as your head. As such, my favorite video game has to be Metal Slug, which I can still 1CC without too much difficulty. Oh, and I will mop the floor with you in Last Blade.

Great stuff ne7, thanks!

The only ice cream trucks I get around here are ugly sounding. Like someone torturing an old Fisher Price toy. In fact, I'd wager that one Somali guy who runs a truck probably does just that. He's running an old conversion van that I swear he converted into an ice cream truck himself. All he needs is a big sign on the back that says "Get in the van little children!"

I have been seriously considering this Theta_Frost. I have done this kind of thing in the past too, so I'd probably do it for the Munchausen, unless I suddenly find a really great source for donor carts and I get them in bulk.

Thanks for the offer Low-Gain! I just might have to take you up on it, though of course I really do want my own. smile
No Carrier thinks he might be able to hook me up with something, but feel free to offer anyway.

Akira- thanks for the link. I'll have a look.

I have no idea if any of you on this board will be able to help a bro out with this, but I'm looking for a Famicom. It needs to be an original Famicom, not an AV Famicom, not a Famiclone, and it needs to be unmodded. Cosmetic condition does not matter much to me as long as there is not permanent marker or paint on the unit. I can deal with dirt, stickers, yellowing, scratches, etc. It needs to be fully functional, though I will permit dodgy control pads. I do not need a power supply or RF connector box. Lastly, it needs to be cheap. Like, around $30 shipped.

I'm looking for one mainly because I have had some people ask me if I'd be willing to make Famicom EPROM carts, or a Famicom version of the upcoming Mucnhausen cart. And, let's be honest here, I'd like to own a Famicom as much as the next guy. smile

I can offer trades or Paypal monies. I'd be willing to part with one or more of the following in exchange:

A custom NES cart (name your game/ROM)
Various un-modded NES games
Gameboy Color, unmodded, in either yellow or purple
And maybe, just maybe, I'd be willing to part with my blue backlit Gameboy Pocket, which has a *handmade* quad LED backlight derived from a GBA SP AGS-101 and has new, less green-looking polarizing film.

Maybe one of you folks going to Blip Tokyo would be willing to hook me up?

Thanks!

This is the primary ingredient of a Munchausen Cartridge:

Also known as the SNROM-05, this particular circuit board contains almost everything needed for the Munchausen design. There is, of course, the MMC1B mapper chip and the CIC chip (top-middle), 8kb of battery backed SRAM (upper right), another 8kb of CHR RAM (bottom left), and the ability to handle up to 256kb of PRG data. With some minor modifications (a few jumper wires, diodes, etc.) we will increase this to 512kb and add the ability to not only read, but write and erase the Flash chip which will occupy the open space on the bottom-right of this cartridge. A few MMC1 registers will be sacrificed in order to accomplish this, but otherwise the cartridge will remain mostly the same.

Curious what NES games contain this board? Look HERE
