i suspect that you already know the above id recommend trying a different cables entirely if it still doesn't work then it will probs be due too the midi device needing the full 5mA

set nanoloop into midi sync mode got to BPM change press a + b then hold B press select till a M appears under bpm value then make sure your cable is working (plug into midi IN) then once nanoloop is in midi mode press start and its should clock external gear to nanoloop, ive made this cable and i have  successfully synced a yamaha RX21 to nanoloop 2.7 and it works like a dream (if this is not the case try a different link cable im using a gamester link cable some third party cables might not work)

anyone know how to stop it crackling tried triacs method and it pops n crackles badly

cool find it very intriguing and was fun to try out but ill be most likely sticking with a DMG for mono

thanks would be much appreciated

Saw if you use something to hold down the voltage switch on a Gameboy advance you can boot nanoloop mono, after trying and it booting i recorded sound samples so you can hear how it sounds on a GBA sp to a unmodded GBC and it sounds drastically different in a weird noisy way, both recordings are of the same patterns played in nanoloop, beware as most filter functions are not apparent and some features dont work on GBA but thought it was fun to try out i did not damage my cart in the process but im not 100% sure its a good thing to do so do it at your own risk samples below.

*recording of GBA is a tad loud may want to turn down speakers

have been through all the manuals and compare just seems some slight differences with S n N channel and curious if theirs any little oddities hidden in there i know in 1.2 holding A up or down on the BPM setting plays the sequencer randomly and im intrigued by the history of nanoloop itself hoping Oliver has some input at some-point

stumbled across this old manual for nanoloop 0.8 and was curious about finding more info out about this rare forgotten gem and if theres a demo of this floating around id love to give it a go

ps im a crude lover of early versions (this does not mean i dont like 1.7/2/mono)

looking for a nanoloop 2 copy if anyone can help

in that case i shall leave gameboy as is for now thanks for the replies big_smile

tbh im not technically inclined with the GB internals i read up some where there was a simple mod taking pin 31 and ground of the cartridge connector and soldering it to a mono output jack giving a clearer output was looking to do just that as im not a soldering genius so apologies for my noob ass question/replies

looking to do the direct audio out mod to my DMG and wondering if theres any sound comparisons out there before i butcher my gameboy also can it be done with a RCA type jack?
