Yes, there are some archives that you simply cannot be without if you like chipmusic. HVSC being on top of the list in my opinion followed by the SNDH Collection, 2a03 archive (sadly down at the moment, and was not very updated lately).

Archives of .MODs etc is harder to store and update, since the filesize (usually) is a lot bigger than .SIDs, .SNDs etc. But the list of archives found at the 8bit today post Chema64 also mentioned is very helpful.

so I gotta come clean. I have been into chip music for a while now and I have not delved into these resources. honestly I do not know where to start and who makes the best stuff. So maybe one of these days I should dedicate some time to exploring these sites.

police truck cover would be sick. maybe someone do holiday in cambodia or california uber alles? that would be so sweet.

Rei the best bet is to listen to a bunch of the artists posted here

generally slow tempo and heavy on bass content (getting into more detail is pointless I think)

In terms of doing it in LSDJ turn the tempo down and get a killer bass sound... I think "how to make genre x with tool x" discussions are often very far from the point of making music.. listen to some of these artists if you like it feel free to emulate or try and capture what they do through another medium

Whoever suggested Loops Haunt (infotoxin)
AMAZING thank you so much for others check this mix out

I also really love the ridiculous wobble stuff, I know they take it seriously but I think it is hilarious fun

I totally agree with you but sometimes these electronic genres have specifics as to how they are defined. like maybe certain methods for developing a beat or whatever. but yeah 100% agree.... I for the most part do not really like all these "sub genres" thiscore adn thatcore. gets annoying.

I got it for christmas and have been peeking at it every now and then.
One thing it says is that the sounds and music you listen to in your developing teen years remain the sounds and music that have the highest affect on you throughout the rest of your life. It creates a kind of memory imprint that will always send impulses directly to pleasuretown in your brain.
Certainly explains my fascination with the genre.

yeah totally. I get such an awesome feeling when I listen to music from chrono trigger and secret of mana which are games that I was playing at around 13ish - 15ish

I own that book. have had it for like almost a year but only about half way thru. very detailed and interesting book. some of it is a bit hard for a regular guy like me to swallow but overall I get it. Buy it if you haven't.

Keep up with the amazing work, guys!

Cheers, Nue! big_smile

I'm feeling really deflated and really uninspired today, but I've done 20 tracks and have at least one other in the pipeline, so luckily I am ahead a little bit, but I hope that if I take a break from music for a few days, I can come back to it with a different perspective and a new approach.

honestly i have no idea how you are able to make so much so quickly. I'm barely keeping up.

no worries. still going on the "maybe" list?

no put me down for sure but if you guys don't like it then just leave it out. I will definitely submit something tho. I am not particularly knowledgeable about things like drone but would Wolf Eyes be a sort of drone/noise band?
