Just a bit.

i just don't quite get this whole argument - the same could be said about any other production style or genre of music.

We live in an age of a wealth - an overbearing wealth - of information. Music communities are no different in this regard, many things are made, only some of them are good enough to be considerably above average.

In the end - let's create technology and culture that allows people to broaden their own horizons, and thereby have the opportunity to make the best music that they can.

I would be interested to see at least a native VGE (from VGM Music Maker) or VGM player that had:
* better visuals than just a static screen, like actually showing the notes being played in the style of a tracker or some other visualization
* an interface to toggle different patterns, sections or tracks, making it more useful for live performance

Sounds awesome!

It was called TechFest in Mumbai at the technical college there (can't remember the name), back in 2009 or so.

90% of most things suck.

With chipmusic, we are all part of the scene and examining the scene.

With other genres / styles / types of music and art that one might be less familiar with, all that you might see is the tip of the iceberg - the 10% that makes it through.

This distorts the perception of chipmusic in comparison to other things.

Do you have any other external MIDI gear that you could try with that particular MIDI interface?

It might be a USB to MIDI problem? Is that possible?
