Yes, it has issues with this!
I've used a standard db9 con, but with the metal casing removed and the inner shell glued together )

You can try to solder to the underside of the board, directly to the pin 5 I was thinking?

Do you know of a 5v source inside the genesis/nomad that I could potentially use to power the teensy via the unused pin on the controller port?
Use pin 9 on the 9 pin controller port connection on the teensy. ??

Re: Convert hundreds of .opm's to .tfi's, in one sweep? (16 replies, posted in Sega)
On a side note, I think it would be cool if someone could figure out how to write an algorithm to determine what type of patch each .tfi is (brass, guitar, bass, bells, etc) based on the register data or w/e, and organize them into folders accordingly, with the name of the game and song still intact somehow. Idk, just an idea that was floating around in my head.
How about a .VGM file that plays demo notes for all patches in a file?

I'm currently writing a tool that converts .OPM to GenMDM. This tool will likely include batch processing.
I can probably add support for .TFI files... let me get it working with GenMDM .genm files first, and I'll go from there

this is GENIUS !
I will make the reverse, too!
As in, load up Genesis .VGM files, and stream the address / data combinations to the GenMDM in real time for a USB-based, hardware .VGM player!
(Hopefully)
(Haven't tried it yet)
