I will check my records

Lets get this sorted! I'm sure there will be an answer.

eptheca, set the pot to move evenly from Channel X, CC 9, Value 0 - 119 to load instruments.

CC values 120 - 127 are basically a "storage" area for moving instruments to and from RAM during use in real time.

Hope that makes sense and is possible! otherwise I can always change how the RAM instrumentation is addressed.

If you load CC 120 - 127, then you will simply "load" the current instrument, i.e. no sound change (it's an area where the current channel sound settings are stored)

So with the RAM recall, it will recall EVERY time a CC value on CC#9 is received.

Not sure if that answers your question, but exact values are not required, only value ranges:

CC value 0 - 7 = instrument 1
CC value 8 - 15 = instrument 2
CC value 16 - 23 = instrument 3
CC value 24 - 32 = instrument 4

etc

The same is true for pretty much EVERY GenMDM parameter

(:

step-by-step breadboard tutorial on adding 5 pin MIDI socket to GenMDM with firmware 102.

http://little-scale.blogspot.com.au/201 … ut-to.html

Thanks so much!

Ah yeah! Well thanks for compiling it, do you mind compiling a future version within those 30 days?

Awesome! You have Max?

* You don't need Max to use the standalone editor
* The compile OS X version runs under OS X
* The source Max patches run under OS X and Windows using the free Max runtime
* I like simple GUI's for my things. It's how I roll tongue
* I know, it's boring.
* Is there a Windows user that could compile a Windows version? Would be super cool smile

GenMDM Firmware v102
==========================================
Firmware v102 Version Information:
* Native MIDI 5 pin DIN support via user-end hardware modification
* This is via the UART RX PIN, found on digital pin 7 of the Teensy board
* More cohesive handling of SSG-EG in terms of mapping - every OP and CH is catered for
* Storage and recall of 15 different RAM-based instruments for VERY quick instrument changes
* Reduced the sample storage ROM area by 2KB
* Simplified and restructured sample code and sample storage ROM area
* The current samples are just some 808 samples - looking to add user-assignable samples

OKAY GUYS I MADE THE STANDALONE EDITOR

Just gotta test it smile

Here's a sneaky peeky

Ok! I'll see what I can do today and tomorrow.

I also would like to release the stand alone editor with 102, not sure if that's viable though.

Dude, that's awesome - would you be able to post pics of your build process? Love it!

sure

ATTENTION FELLOW VINTAGE 8-BIT HARDWARE NERDS!
No working hardware has been butchered to make my sound devices.
Only spares & repairs parts has been used.
So please no 8-bit "fatwás" etc. smile

(yes I know, the Sega has a 16-bit processor, 8-bit used as a general term, the sound controller is a Z80 though wink)

Wow. Much respect. I love it!!!!

The things that I consider to be missing from 102 so far are:

GenMDM Tools:
* No tool yet for user-end sample editing and uploading (the only thing I need to be able to do is either convert to and from an intel hex file OR fix the checksum code in my implementation... grrrr... I am thiiiiiiiiiis close)
* Perhaps the other GenMDM channel strip tools can use an update too

What say ye?
