Re: Why does the NES have a Tri wave rather than saw wave (48 replies, posted in Nintendo Consoles)
going in line with everything Rainwarrior just said, it's my best guess that the people who made the sound chip wanted the nes to have the closest thing to a pure tone (sine wave) as possible, which turned out to be a triangle wave.

IMO, this is your opus. Intricately layered, yet hard hitting sound design that asks, "What is lsdj?" and then proceeds to punch a gameboy in the face.

Chiptune thought he had it all. The money, the babes, the fame, the riches. For over 100 hard years, Chiptune had built his empire on the brk_3n backs of poor nerds everywhere. By tapping into their life source, he was able to Grow_GrowG_row_Gorw out of control and perform a hostile takeover on Neo Mumbai. With his seemingly infinite power, he Spiral_Sp1r4lpSi_ralS5pr14_l'd into an insane evil countenance, hell (circuit) bent on destruction and the enslavement of the human race.
One kid (with a gameboy) stands against him. Armed only with his basscannon, w1ck3d s1ck™ thrash moves, and underwear, SKGB rises above The Miasma and throws down the gauntlet.
Chiptune thought he had it all.
He was was wrong.

Re: what's the saddest most miserable chiptune that exists? (58 replies, posted in General Discussion)
k boyz and gurlz, y'all ready for a BOATLOAD OF SADNESS?? let's kick it:
so, i played Final Fantasy Adventure (GB) when i was 9. this is still hands-down the most melancholy music i have ever heard. AND it accompanies people dying and sacrificing themselves, that's pretty heavy for a 9-year old.
Oh and also:
bryface - hope and despair - this is probably the closest thing to a sad song that i have ever written. it's because i wrote it in the middle of a really dark time in my life -- but strangely enough, writing it helped me through it.
The Best Soundtrack ;_;
Well, i guess if someone wrote a song about the career of SKGB, it would be the saddest tune in existence

one day I recognized my chipmusic, and the rest was, as they say, history.
Now i'm a world class, globetrotting chiptune musician who regularly performs in 25 different countries on 9 different continents a week while making 50,000 a show and fucking mad bitches.
In my off season.
Keep making chiptune, and maybe one day, you too can be recognized!

btw, if anyone needs a place to crash in philly, I highly suggest you talk to me, Pixls, or An0va.
we all have places to crash, and if it doesn't work out we know people with places to crash.
