My problem is that search isn't very smart. Usually when I search I just use Google and search my topic and then just throw chipmusic.org on the end.

I think when a new topic is posted by someone new (under 50 posts) it should automatically search the forum for them and tell them to research the top hits. They can still just skip to posting but if the question has clearly already been asked and answered then a mood could ban them from pasting new topics for a time (a week?). Rules +accountability = happiness.

Alternatively, an entire sub forum for noon questions on general could be created. Sometimes I ask questions I know are considered "noob" but I am in reality new and just learning. This was especially helpful on the Ubuntu forums when just starting out. You could even make sascrotch a mod of that forum. He's not just a heartless jerk, I think he really tries to help. Rarely do I see him post blatant insults, usually those are posted in response to his help.

Sascrotch is a good guy.

He should make an inverted one.

Haha I was anticipating this question. I actually put this together from my personal collection as a project I have always wanted to see done now that I finally found a white PIL. I'm going to re-assemble the original colors, I could never allow myself to separate a white and blue Play it Loud haha. This project was to show a color combination that I have not seen a picture of yet. Just thought it would be a cool thing for everyone to see.

I could make the inverted one and take pics if you guys wanted to see it.

And for that, I thank you.

I'll buy if you promise to do a let's play of your choice either Michael Jackson genesis game or Michael Jordan chaos in the windy city for SNES. And you have to beat the whole thing with interesting commentary.

No but really I'd buy it just to help you but I'm as broke or more than you. Have you tried posting it on any other forums? I could see some fallout fans going nuts for this.

I've been wanting to make this FOREVER and finally had the opportunity to do it, thought you all might enjoy it:

Front shell Play it Loud White
Back shell Play it Loud Blue
White Battery door
Chipmusic in stereo screen cover
Inverted white backlight
Clear blue buttons
Internal prosound

What did you do with the other halfs?

It depends on where you're from. Blue was released in Germany (maybe all of Europe) so Nitro is in Sweden. White was Japan only so its rare just about everywhere. Seems like here in the states clear and black go for the most just because they're popular. I cringe a little when people paint the inside of a clear boy. But I also cringe a little when people do anything to any but greyboys. Few exceptions would be like NeX or boodah.

$250 for a dmg?!?!?!

Seriously here you're the reason he didn't want to post a price. If you are interested make him an offer if not move along.

Send a sample of chip metal to metallica, convince their manager its the next big thing (beck uses it, its rumored that the new gaga album will too) and then be like "oh hey and I have this perfect set up for you. Its totally metal." Then sell it to them for 2 grand.

No but really they look really good. I'd be interested to hear about the "patchy" style paint job technique. Never really seen that.

The text is far too small to for vinyl cutting. Something like mylar would probably be better, and would be reusable.

Any tips on where to get this? All I see in google are places that make you use their fonts. I want somewhere that will let me upload my own image.

That's the direction I am looking at going. I would love for you to either teach me how, or do it for me. Would that be something workable? I'd want the logo back on the NES flap and the front of the GB shell along with the other things. Basically everything back to stock.

But I don't know, PM me, don't want to derail the thread!

This is my only attempt at pixel art. I followed iLikke's tutorial on his game dev site.

Tanks guys.

But really, if anyone has any ideas on getting the logos back, I'm all ears. I know that it's possible.

Also I am stoked for SLC and if you need any help with anything I will do my best to help you.
