I guess it's actually called 'retr0brite' but here's the link: http://retr0bright.wikispaces.com/

The logo rom was generated using Nitro2k01's awesome tool: http://blog.gg8.se/wordpress/2013/02/19 … -graphics/

I think if anything bleaching it would yellow it. I don't have much/any actual experience so take this with a grain of salt. I would recommend trying out the retro bright method first to see how much yellowing that removes, I think you'd be surprised.

That and adding play it loud buttons and screen really make it look darker. I recently did one and it's really white:

Well I guess that's yellow due to crappy lighting. You get the point though.

This may be a totally stupid suggestion, but you have tried fresh batteries, correct?

Awesome, thanks so much! Question though, I'm a little hesitant to permanantly mod my gameboy, I'd still like to do some gaming. How hard would it be to wire a switch up to this? Probably a dpdt switch like this:

The only tricky part I'm thinking would be the resistor, but that could just be inline with the circuit right? I apologize, I havent looked into this extensively. I was thinking that tiny switch would fit perfectly in that little window where the battery clip goes. You'd have to use a small tool to switch it, but that would be acceptable.

I doubt this is your problem, but to make sure, the polarized film goes in between the backlight and lcd. Like a sandwich. Starting from the farthest back you would have: pcb -> backlight -> polarized film -> lcd.

The way you said "even when viewed through the polarization filter" had me worried. You're not viewing the screen 'through' it as much as the light is shining through it.

Other than that, I don't know.

Sorry to bump, but I'm looking for the start/select mod tutorial. It looks like the like apeshit posted is dead. Does anyone have it?

Eh, that would worry me that Lagrange Point wouldn't work. I read that famiclones had issues due to the extra synth on board. Thanks though, and I eagerly await your gba and nes  builds!

Thanks for thr offer! That may be a little out of my price range right now though. Weren't you selling just a regular Famicom a while back?

Woah dude, green with jealous rage right now. Can I ask where you got it and how much you paid? I just bought Lagrange Point yesterday after watching the digging in the carts episode so I may be in the market for a famicom.

OHHHH sorry, I missed that he was using an el panel. Thanks. PS, I killed my first DMG screen last night, so anytime you could release your new screen that would be great. wink

Thanks danimal.

Looks great! Why is there noise from the power inverter? I'm not sure if you by power inverter you mean hex inverter and noise you mean display noise. Or is there actually noise from the power inverter board? If so, what does that have to do with the bivert?

Does anybody have a source for the band playing the Mr. Gimmick music?

I think the trailer pumped up the hip hop aspect way more than it comes across in at least the first episode.
