Is the built-in keyboard really that bad for lgpt?
Cant the key bindings be changed to make it OK?

Yep thats what mapping is for. The default keybinding is semiuseless, once mapped its USABLE but I wouldnt want to work on songs from the ground up using them.

Thats how I disabled mine! Now all my projects work well, and also the gui will put the display the sleep if you leave it running.

Killing the gui on boot gave me enough headroom to run porjects without crackles!

It still stutters on heavy wifi usage, so dont upload stuff via sftp while you play your shows guys.

I suspect the always running servcices like the gui are chewing resources, will look for stuff to disable!

Hey Garvalf! - I used your image because building mine failed. You might want to consider including a mapping file with the zip because the default keybinding is a pain..  Also submit your build via git to the master project, they should put it on the website!

The only thing you should note is you need to install pulseaudio
From the terminal
sudo apt-get install pulseaudio

I would also suggest installing SSH server because it makes setup much easier

Things I need to get working personally (would love tips)
- Auto run pig (or hack the build in menu to replace sunvox)
- Auto pair my joypad
- Mount the filesystem over samba or sshfs or something.
ps do NOT upgrade the firmware to the latest 8gb image, everything seem much flakier.

Things I got working:

Midi out!
Bluetooth control - youll need it!
Loads default projects and sends midi.

Yea but that is boring. Music isn't physics the minute it becomes perceived by human emotions as arts. So why not let the nomenclature and cultural experiences of our times dictate how we view it.

Genres are a shared language we use to discuss the thing.

Plus its mostly white dudes!

Considering the gameboy soundchip isnt a REAL sound chip like the ym or sid, youd probably be better off with just making an actual softsynth on a dsp chip.

Chip music like punk offers the chance to express musical ideas without very much time invested in ability.

It would be cool to to just see a kitsch shell with buttons or something. I guess kitsch thinks so too?
