3. No idea, but 1 disables the ability for a uno to be updated over USB and you need a FTDI cable.

Let me know how it goes, I want to do #2 myself but havent found the time to try it.

on mine you have the unsoldered pins you can hook a FTDI cable up to. Fwiw you dont need to update the code to use the same old modes.

Also: you can use the STOP command to stop an entire song in song mode, and JUST THAT CHAIN in live mode for creating one shot loops that dont need to be turned off manually
