Thanks to modern cellphones, my perception of what decent battery life is makes the gameboy look like a champ. I use 2700mah recharagables, and probably run through a charge twice a month or so.

I mostly write my songs in live mode mostly, then arrange in song mode. Once I got a few sections cooking I stitch it together into song mode, but when I was putting together a live cart, I copied all these songs to be either in the first row of each project, or if there were two songs, I made sure the songs started in the first row +1 page or whatever, and with enough practice I am able just to load the next project blind. And its about the same number of key presses as the nitro hack (even though that sounds cool).
