Sounded like a good idea at the time, but you are right infradead, a list of promoters would be better.

I still think that it sounds like an awesome idea!

Face it there isn't that many "chiptune promoters" out there. Widen your horizons guys.

I'll just leave this here: http://gbdev.gg8.se/wiki/articles/Merchants
If something is wrong or I missed someone, tell me, or get off your bums and register an account so you can edit the wiki. (And don't mess up the layout, mind ya.)

Imo neither 8bit ventures, RetroUSB nor Attract Mode should be on that list. Its a Gameboy Development Wiki and none of them have anything to do with that afaik.

Maybe I should just register an account on there instead of ranting here wink

V, P and L all control pitch in a certain way, so combining them can lead to either WIN or FAIL wink

Maybe fix the spelling in the threads title?

I use it every now and then.

Isnt this what sidabitballs LSVJ  (Little Sprites Vj) does or am I mistaken?

I say 10 000 free men and their families and friends and Raptor-Kharlan.

But the venue only had room for 1k what should the rest 9k do!? And not to mention their families!

The one thing I dont get about this thread is how in hell you would fill a 1k venue with unknown artists? Fill it with the cream of the crap.

I dont really understand why you guys bother comparing it with the gameboy, imo its a completely new creature. smile

nanoloop for iphone is not 8-bit, nor does it emulate old sound chips. the synth is vaguely similar to the game boy's and vintage yamaha FM chips. however, the synth models (filtered rect wave, LFSR noise and FM) were not chosen out of nostalgia but because they are the simplest and make beautiful sounds. the clean and artificial FM also makes a nice complement to the rough and dirty filtered rectangular waves. combined with some short samples this is just all i need.

It's a hardware issue of the DMG it self. Maybe you can try to shape your noise instruments with the 'S' command instead and see if that runs smoother.

This is what Ive heard to but how come carillon doesn't have the issue with skipping noise tables? Just a thought.

Hasn't this been there from day one?

This looks awesome. Ive been using YSEDITOR (atari st) and Emagic Sounddiver (windows) before but its nice with a software that is free and still supported. For windows you can also use MidiQuest but its kinda pricey. So I'm gonna keep my eyes on this one.

According to Thretris blog the wiring for the SK-8110 is like this: (as you probably already know by now)
